The European Industrial Pharmacists Group (EIPG) has developed a series of e-Learning courses on biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing. These courses consist of audiovisual presentations with supplementary reading material and multiple choice questions and if the student is successful, will provide a certificate of competency (details provided in the link below). In order to gain initial feedback on the course, the series of fifteen eLearning lectures and supplementary reading material will be available to PIER members free of charge until 31st July 2016, providing that they provide feedback on the courses. PQMS Auditor Training Course

Pharmaceutical Quality Management Systems (PQMS) Auditor/ Lead Auditor Training Course will be held in NIBRT from 27th June 2016 to 1st July 2016. Delegates will learn how to monitor and develop systems to improve quality thinking and business performance. This course is certified by the International Register for Certificated Auditors (IRCA) and is delivered by Inspired Pharma Training.

PhD Opportunities for recent Pharmacy graduates within an EU funded Marie Curie Training Network

Have you ever considered completing a structured PhD training programme in another EU country? PEARRL is a European Training Network (ETN) recently funded under the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions. PEARRL is a specialist PhD programme focused on developing innovative drug formulation strategies and regulatory tools tailored to facilitate earlier access to medicines. It brings together European Pharma industry, academia and regulatory agency partners in a multi-sectorial team to deliver a unique PhD training programme for 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESR). PEARRL will train 15 PhD students on strategies to develop novel bio-enabling formulations (“better drug products”), biorelevant and in silico methods to predict formulation performance in vivo (“streamlined development”) and serve as communication bridgers between research and regulatory science (“accelerated approval”), thus bringing Pharma industry and regulatory agencies objectives to fruition PEARRL have recently advertised PhD Studentships within the ETN. The PIER Spring CPD meeting will be held in School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences TCD (Joly Theatre) on Wed evening 13th April 2016 at 7pm. The theme of the meeting will be ‘Personalised Medicine' with an oncology focus. The speakers will be:
